Screenplay...so far

Okay folks,
Here's what I've written so far of the screenplay. When a new paragraph starts, mentally insert the directions "cut to:" and it should read pretty well. Keep in mind that this was must me sitting at the computer putting my thoughts (sometimes random and seemingly unconnected) into words. Henceforth, some parts will be written in great detail, while others are just a brief skeleton of a scene. So if there's anything that you don't understand, or seems odd or awkward, please ask and I can explain it for you.
Notes:
-This screenplay is not fully written. I will give a brief overview at the end of what takes place afterward.
-EPIO (Evil Private Investigation Organization) is just the temporary acronym for the organization (basically organized crime) that is after Josie's money.
-Anne is a brilliant scientist who has created a super-clone program, where a person in danger can switch place with their clone.
-Anna is Josie's temporary clone.
-Eli (played by Elisha) is the bad son of the EPIO boss, and Elisha (also played by Elisha) is his clone. Elisha the clone is good friends with Anna.
-Chris is Josie's boyfriend.


(Opening credits) Josie is at her dad’s funeral, lays flowers on his grave, cries, etc. / EPIO boss briefs agents on next mission: a young heiress (Josie). (Identifying feature: she drives a black Lexus-5DJR11)

Cut between: Josie driving through the town and walking through the town
And
The EPIO agents/boss are watching her and send 2 agents to get her

Josie knows she’s being followed, so she runs into an alley and hits her switcher device. The 2 agents step into the alley w/ guns drawn. Anna turns around, is confused, but instinctively beats up 2 agents. She runs out of the alley.

EPIO boss sees her escape and sends out 6 more agents

Josie pops up in a clone cell. She is slightly disoriented.

Anne is working at her computer when a notification pops up, telling about the switch. Then she accidentally hits the power switch with her foot and there is a blackout.

Josie in the cell: she is about to press the switcher when all the lights and monitors go out.

Anne, disgruntled and upset, tries to fix the computer.

Anna walks confusedly around town, trying to figure things out. She has never seen any of this before, and so is amazed at cars, elevators, etc.

Anna is walking along the road when the EPIO agents drive up. She picks up a rock nonchalantly, and when the agents get out with guns drawn, she hurls the rock, which knocks one agent’s gun and shoots another agent. She then dives, rolls, grabs the gun, and puts it to the first agent’s head. After a fight, the other 4 point guns at her, and she surrenders. They handcuff her and knock her out.

Anna is in the EPIO office – she is handcuffed in the corner, pretending to be unconscious. She listens to the agents until they take her for questioning. She doesn’t know what they’re talking about, so she doesn’t answer them. They lock her up in a closet for a few days.

Josie is in the clone cell, looking tired, bored, and irritated.

Chris is sitting at a fancy restaurant, where he had apparently been waiting for Josie. He looks confused and disappointed.

Josie is in the clone cell. She is complaining to herself about having been stuck there for two days. Then she wanders out into the hallway where she finds the training grounds. One clone (Natalie?) starts fighting her. Josie screams and ducks. Elisha runs up and stops Natalie. He talks with Josie, detailing Anna’s past. Then a taskmaster comes and makes them start working out, which Josie hates.

An agent asks the Boss if Anna has spent long enough in the closet. He answers no, give it another day, saying that after 3 days of solitary confinement without food or water, Anna will sing like a canary.

Anna sits in the closet, tired and hungry. Her lips are parched for lack of water.

Josie sits watching the monitor, the pangs of conscience beginning to strike. She muses to herself that Anna has been in the closet for two days without food or water, and then waxes eloquent about the horrible treatment the clones are given at the facility. Instead of turning this monologue into a self-pitying speech, however, she starts to truly understand what the clones go through every day, just to protect people like her. She mentions that she once thought of the clones as mindless property, existing only for their masters’ benefit, but now sees them as actual people. “No human being should have to suffer this.”

Anna sits in the closet in the dark.

Chris calls Josie’s home phone and cell phone, leaves a message at both, and is confused that she hasn’t picked up either.

The EPIO Boss and agents listen in on the phone call, speculating how much Chris knows. They decide that he isn’t a threat for now.

Chris, determined to find out the cause for this, visit’s Josie’s house. He gets in and starts looking through her computer files to figure out where she could be. He finds a reference to the clone program and starts researching it.

Anna is locked up in the closet. The agents take her back out for questioning. Eli is in the questioning room, and Anna is confused. She keeps eyeing his switcher, but doesn’t know what it is. She still doesn’t answer the agents’ questions, so they start taking her to another room. On the way, it’s just Eli and 1 agent who guard her. Anna asks Eli if he has a twin, then presses his switcher. She then puts her handcuffs around the agent’s neck and tells Elisha to help her escape. He does nothing, however, and 2 other agents grab Anna. When she looks back, Eli is there.

Eli and the agents take Anna to another room, briefly explaining that Elisha has to obey Eli. They then threaten to use torture.

Josie watches from the clone cell, horrified that they would torture Anna. When she sees on the monitor (or flashbacks) their frequent assurances that if she talks she won’t be hurt, Josie makes up her mind to switch back and save Anna. But when she presses the switcher, it still doesn’t work. Josie is crushed, realizing that she got Anna into an awful situation and is unable to get her out. She sinks down to the floor, sobbing.

Through the neglect of the agents, Anna grabs a gun and shoots the 3 agents. She then points it at Eli, making him come over to unlock the handcuffs. He knocks the gun from her hand, though, and a fight ensues. Eventually she takes the keys, kicks him backwards, unlocks herself, grabs the gun, and points it at Eli. Eli switches to Elisha, and Elisha says he can’t help Anna escape. He knocks the gun out of her hand, and they start fighting, but half-heartedly. Elisha gets the gun and points it at her, hinting that she should run. So Anna takes off, with Elisha in hot pursuit. In one of the hallways, Anna grabs a gun from a random guard, and she and Elisha start shooting at each other.

The EPIO Boss orders the agents out to help “Eli”.

Anna runs around a corner, and when Elisha follows her she grabs his gun, and is now the one to call the shots. They run down the street and into a shopping mall, where they try to lose themselves in the crowd. Elisha mentions that the agents can track his movements.

The agents are tracking Elisha, but cannot pinpoint his exact location in the shopping mall. They branch out, trying to set an ambush.

Anna and Elisha don’t move in a straight line, but mix it up in order to confuse the agents. On their way, they purchase a number of items, including clothes and a knife. They make their way to a parking garage, where they jump in a car that a lady is getting in. They promise to pay her, and start driving away (with her in the back seat). While Anna drives, Elisha pulls out a knife that he grabbed in the mall and begins cutting into his left shoulder to remove the tracking device that was implanted under his skin. Once he gets it out, he sticks it in a plastic bag and shoves it in the glove compartment. Then Anna pulls over by a crowded roadside, Elisha pays the lady $100, they tell her to drive another 20 miles in a certain direction, and they hop out and start walking the other way.

Eli sits poised in the clone cell, ready to switch back at any moment. On the monitor, Anna tells Eli that looks are deceiving; even when she might look helpless, she’s armed and dangerous. She warns him not to try switching back, because it will end in his death, saying that the agents can track them.

Anna and Elisha walk into a Starbucks, change clothes, order coffee, and sit down tiredly. They remark briefly that they don’t even know where to go, where to find Josie. Across the room, a man on a laptop gets up to go to the bathroom. Anna slides over, pops on the internet, makes a quick search, and comes up with the address of the clone facility. She jots it down on a napkin and slides back over to Elisha just before the man comes back from the bathroom. They grab their coffee and waltz out the door.

Having looked at a map, Anna and Elisha get on the Metro towards Shady Grove and travel for a while. Anna is starting to look more and more exhausted. Having not eaten for 3 days or slept a whole lot, she is fading fast. Elisha notices, and writes her a note out of sight of his camera, saying that she should find a place to rest. Anna replies that she would need to find a safe place first.

Anna and Elisha stand outside a suburban house as a woman comes to the door. They frankly tell her that they are dead tired and need a place to sleep for a few hours. She is suspicious, particularly when they tell her that they are homeless. When she half-heartedly turns them away, Anna walks a couple steps and then faints from exhaustion. Elisha quickly turns away so that Eli won’t see, then begs the woman again. Softened by Anna fainting, she consents for 3 hours. When she and Elisha carry Anna inside, Anna revives, and looks up to see Eli standing there instead of Elisha, and whips out her gun and points it at him. She instructs him to switch back, which he reluctantly does. The woman is shocked, scared, and confused, and Anna and Elisha quickly assure her that everything is fine, and apologize for the trouble that they’ve caused. Anna then asks the woman if there is somewhere where Elisha can be locked up. When she looks absolutely confused, Elisha tells her that it is all right, and she dazedly leads the way to a room that locks from the outside, and Elisha goes in. Then Anna staggers back to the living room and collapses on the floor.

Anna wakes up after 3 hours and looks around. She gets up off the floor and stretches her stiff limbs. Hearing the noise, the woman comes in. Anna thanks her profusely for the space to sleep, but speculates that her weakness was probably caused more by lack of food than lack of sleep. The woman replies that Anna can have food if she will tell her what is going on. Anna agrees, and is soon chowing down on some food. She tells the woman that Elisha and she are on the run from some people, but hesitate to call the police because she doesn’t even know who she is. (She somehow explains why she needed to threaten Elisha with the gun.) Then Anna asks the woman if Elisha was awake yet, and the woman goes to check. She returns and says that he’s still asleep. Then she excuses herself to go do laundry or something, and Anna sits down on the couch. A deck of cards is sitting on the coffee table, and she picks them up, shuffles them, and starts playing solitaire.

The woman goes to the phone and calls the police. The policeman tells her that there are several undercover cops in the area who would be over shortly.

Anna switches to free cell, beach solitaire, and other card games. Then the policemen burst in with guns pulled. Anna nonchalantly keeps playing cards, then suddenly starts throwing cards lightning-fast at the policemen. The cards knock them out, and they fall over, while the woman is once again shocked and terrified. Anna stands up, walks to the room with Elisha, bangs on the door, and then opens it, gun drawn. Elisha is still there, and he comes out quickly, looking with interest at the unconscious policemen. Anna thanks the woman again for all the help, Elisha pays her $50, and they quickly exit.

Anna and Elisha once again are on foot, and Elisha insists that they find a better means of transportation. Anna refuses to steal or commandeer another car.

Anna and Elisha stand by the side of the road with their thumbs up. Finally a man in a white pickup stops and lets them hop in.

At the EPIO base: an agent tells the Boss about the incident with the police, and the Boss tells a couple of agents to intercept Anna and Elisha.

As they ride along, Anna spots what looks like agents following them. Right before she can point it out to Elisha, there is a shot and their driver slumps in his seat. Elisha grabs the wheel, jumps over the driver while Anna pulls him to the side, and starts driving away. A car chase ensues, in which Anna and Elisha eventually get away.


So...what happens next is:
Anna and Elisha find the clone facility, where they meet Chris. They split up; Elisha goes to find and fight his master, while Anna goes to talk Anne into releasing all the clones. There is an epic duel between Eli and Elisha (whenever Elisha has the advantage, Eli switches with him, etc.) and Elisha emerges victorious. Anna somehow convinces Anne that the clone program is inhumane and needs to be shut down immediately. However, when Elisha, Anna, Josie, and maybe a few clones emerge from the facility, the EPIO is standing there with Chris at gunpoint. Elisha pretends to be Eli, and Anna pretends to cooperate. However, fighting soon breaks out, and Josie is shot.
Either the movie ends there, or something happens where the EPIO boss is brought to justice, etc. Maybe a news show would be talking about the story of how the clone facility was shut down. Either way, it is a mostly sweet ending.

And after the credits...
Anna is sitting in her house (maybe watching TV) when she hears the doorbell ring. She goes to the door and finds Josie's clone standing there.
