If it would help y'all with names, here are the plots:
Episode 1 Plot
Cyrus and Buck return from a cattle drive to find Maybelle, Hazel, and Morgan Brodie heading towards Lakeville. They find that the girls want to set up a tavern, and suggest that they use an old barn on their ranch. The girls accept, and are soon settled in.
A couple days later, while Cyrus and Buck are teaching Hazel to shoot, some men come to the ranch and capture them. They then take them to the Sheriff, and claim that they had stolen their horses. With no one there to sway the decision, the three stand convicted and face hanging. The execution is set for three days, and they are left alone, tied up in a cellar.
Meanwhile, Patch Slogun shows up at the Brodies’ tavern, having been misdirected by one of his men as to where the three real horse thieves (his accomplices) had gone. When Maybelle tells them what happened, he comes up with a plan to spring them from jail.
That night, Patch and his men sneak in and free Cyrus, Buck, and Hazel, and take them back to their hideout. Patch, having never seen the three people that had actually stolen the horses, doesn’t realize his mistake. When Cyrus won’t tell him where the stolen horses are, he threatens them with death. Eventually he ties them up under guard for the night, and plans what to do the next day.
When their guard dozes off for a minute, the three form a plan. Realizing that the only way for them to clear their name of theft is to bring in the real thieves, they think of ways that they could escape to tell the Sheriff.
The next morning, Patch and his men try harsher methods of making Cyrus, Buck, and Hazel talk. He accuses them of stealing the horses for their own profit only, and threatens to kill them if they don’t tell him the whereabouts of the stolen stock. In the process of the questioning, Cyrus and Buck get beat up a lot, and Hazel a little. Somehow, a shot is fired in Hazel’s general direction, and she falls down, playing dead. Cyrus and Buck go along with the act, and Patch and his men are convinced. Eventually they give up for the moment and start traveling, leaving Hazel where she fell.
As soon as the men are gone, Hazel gets up and runs back for the Sheriff. He and the men pretend to believe her in order to be able to recapture Cyrus and Buck, and they head off.
Meanwhile, Cyrus and Buck pretend to give in. They start leading Patch and his men off in one direction, then get into a fistfight with them. In all the hullabaloo, no one can manage to find a gun for a while. Finally Cyrus and Buck find some, and start shooting. Patch and his men take cover and shoot back. This shooting continues for a while, with maybe one or two of the bad guys dying or getting injured. Maybe Cyrus or Buck could get shot in the arm.
Then, the Sheriff, Hazel, and the other men ride up. They dismount, and then the Sheriff grabs Hazel and puts a gun to her head. He tells Cyrus and Buck to drop their guns or she will die. They drop their guns and come out with their hands up. Patch and his men follow, telling the Sheriff that they had been trying to bring them in. Cyrus pulls a gun from somebody’s holster, grabs Patch, and points it to his head. Cyrus tells the whole story, that Patch was the man that sprung them from jail and had been trying to make them tell him where the stolen horses were. The Sheriff finally believes them, and takes Patch and his men back to jail instead of the others.
A couple of days later, word comes to the tavern that the real horse thieves had been caught, and that Cyrus, Buck, and Hazel’s records are completely clear.
Episode 2 (Dead by Two) Plot:
Morgan runs into the Sheriff’s office, where she tells him that Maybelle and the parson have been captured by Patch Slogun. Hazel has already chased after them. Cyrus and Buck run into the Sheriff’s office, hear the story, and set off after Hazel and Patch.
Cyrus and Buck catch up with Hazel in the forest. While Buck waters the horses, Cyrus goes and talks to Hazel privately. He explains that she really should be home with Morgan, and that he and Buck can take care of Maybelle and the parson. However, before they can go back to where Buck is, three of Patch’s men jump out and capture them. Cyrus and Hazel are taken back to Patch, with Buck left wondering where they went.
Patch has been expecting them, and uses them as motivation for Maybelle to marry him. Maybelle, torn, finally agrees to marry Patch on two conditions: if she can have a proper, no-gun-to-the-head wedding, and if Cyrus and Hazel can go free. Patch agrees, and the wedding is set for the next day. However, he says that he won’t let Cyrus and Hazel or the parson go until after the wedding. Secretly, he plans to kill them all. He sends Crane to go get Morgan from the ranch.
Buck realizes that something isn’t right. When Maybelle goes down to the creek to wash some clothes, he is hiding there. The guard that follows Maybelle at a distance doesn’t see him. Buck quietly talks to Maybelle, and finds out what is going on. They form a plan, and then Maybelle goes back to camp.
The next day, everyone is getting ready for the wedding. Crane and Jed go out to pick the flowers for the bouquets, while Maybelle secretly shares the plan to Cyrus, Hazel, and the parson.
When it’s time for the wedding, everyone gathers. Hazel and Morgan are the bridesmaids, and Crane and Jed are the groomsmen. Cyrus stands in the back, waiting for his cue. The parson goes through most of the ceremony. After Patch says ‘I do,’ he asks Maybelle if she will say it. Before she can answer, he says ‘if anyone has any objections, speak now or forever hold your peace.’ Cyrus speaks up. Patch and his men won’t listen, however; Cyrus is given a few punches and then held at gunpoint.
The parson continues the ceremony, but he doesn’t ask Maybelle to say ‘I do’ again. With all of the ruckus that has ensued, nobody notices. The ceremony ends, and Patch and Maybelle are pronounced man and wife. Maybelle reminds Patch of his promise to set Cyrus, Hazel, Morgan, and the parson free. Patch instead lines them up to be shot. He forces them to sign away all their possessions to him. Cyrus says, however, that both he and Buck would need to sign the paper before it was legal. Patch sends a couple of men back to the ranch to get Buck.
As soon as they are gone, Buck, the Sheriff, and a couple of men jump out and arrest Patch and his men. There is a short fistfight, but the good guys end up on top. The Sheriff tells Patch and his men to leave the area for good, and that when he came back he would be hanged. Patch agrees to leave, but Maybelle won’t go with him. She and the parson reveal that she is actually not his wife, because she never said ‘I do.’ Patch sets off, vowing revenge.
Episode 3
The Brodie’s cousins, Clarise (Josie) and Phoebe (Natalie) come from Boston to visit Maybelle, Hazel, and Morgan. The day after their arrival Buck asks Cyrus if he can get some presents for the girls to make them feel more at home. Cyrus consents and Buck rides into town. On the way, he meets up with Jed who breaks down and asks for forgiveness for what he and Patch did. Buck thinks he is being sincere and when Jed offers to buy him a drink, Buck consents. At the bar, Buck orders whiskey and behind Buck’s back Jed tells him to make it triple strong. Buck gets tipsy and runs into Crane who starts attacking him. Jed steps into the fight but when Crane swings he duck and Buck gets knocked out. They haul Buck of to Patch who sends Jed with the same phony confession to Cyrus. Jed says that buck has been shot by Patch in the woods and Cyrus needs to come help get him back to the ranch. Cyrus falls for it and Patch gets him too. Little does Cyrus know, but when he leaves with Jed, Morgan and Phoebe follow them on foot. They witness his capture and see Buck tied up. Then they run back and tell Maybelle and Hazel who take some guns and go after Patch and his gang bringing Morgan and Pheobe with them. They send Clarise off for the sheriff but she gets lost on the way and gets kidnapped by Crane. The Brodie’s find the camp and see Buck, Cyrus and Clarise all tied up. Who is Polly?...
I meant in episode 3
Polly is Natalie.
Also, the plotlines for episodes 1 and 2 were written before the scripts, and so are not entirely correct.
Wait a second... it's Phoebe, not Polly.
You have to keep the plotline consistent, Buck!
Patch dies?!?
Yeah, um, Buck? We'll have to talk about the third episode. I'm not so sure about having everyone die.
Does Jed get crippled in only one leg or both? 'Cause if he can't use any of his legs, how will he get out of jail in the other episodes?
see, if everyone dies, then we don't have to worry about them in future episodes.
wait a minute it doesn't say Polly anywhere!
you guys are holucinatin'
Alright i decided my name should be Chester Rockwood, what do you think?
